The torso in this piece was fabricated from a publicly available 3D scan of the iconic Greek/Roman Laocoön sculpture. The work draws loosely from photograph showing a young Black man using a can of spray paint as an improvised flamethrower as he is threatened by a group of white supremacists at the 2017 Charlottesville Unite the Right rally.
