And Footnotes Make the World (For L.N.T.)

And Footnotes Make the World (For L.N.T.) Performance at the Icebox at Crane Arts, Philadelphia, PA, June 2011. The performance consists of repeatedly typing a passage from Tolstoy's War and Peace, in which Tolstoy departs from the narrative of the novel, and attempts to build a connection between differential calculus and a unified theory of history. The accumulated repetitions of the text pile up on the floor beneath the tower, while the clacking of the manual typewriter punctuates the performance.

Tower dimensions: 15' H x 7' W x 7" W.
